Anathem

Anathem Anathem by Neal Stephenson

My review

Just started reading it. It's almost 900 pages. This is going to take a while.
I've read Cryptonomicon and the Baroque Cycle trilogy also. Great books!

Guernsey Book

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
Wonderful book! Set on Guernsey in the Channel Islands directly after WWII. I didn't realize that Guernsey was occupied by the Germans during WWII. Told through a series of letters. Funny, poignant.

Kim Stanley Robinson

Forty Signs of Rain Forty Signs of Rain by Kim Stanley Robinson

My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
The first book in the 'environment' trilogy.

Next is 'Fifty Degrees Below' then 'Sixty Days and Counting'.

I read Fifty degrees first and now having read all three books I still like Fifty Degrees best. All of them are mostly set in Washington D.C. so the area is well known to me. In Fifty Degrees, the main character lives in a tree house on Roosevelt Island!
