Kim Stanley Robinson
Forty Signs of Rain by Kim Stanley Robinson
rating: 4 of 5 stars
The first book in the 'environment' trilogy.
Next is 'Fifty Degrees Below' then 'Sixty Days and Counting'.
I read Fifty degrees first and now having read all three books I still like Fifty Degrees best. All of them are mostly set in Washington D.C. so the area is well known to me. In Fifty Degrees, the main character lives in a tree house on Roosevelt Island!
