Snickers Cookies

I was cleaning out the freezer and found part of a 2-pound bag of Snickers Miniatures left over from Halloween. What to do with them? Aha, make Snickers cookies!

Cookies made with Snickers Bars

1 c. sugar
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
1 c. peanut butter
1 pkg. SNICKERS® bars (16 oz.) miniature
size
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
3 c. flour
2 eggs, beaten

Cream together sugar, brown sugar, butter and peanut butter. Add vanilla and eggs; mix. Add dry ingredients. Cut candy bars in fourths. Wrap dough around each piece forming a ball. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350 degrees for 12-18 minutes or until golden brown.

Note: I chilled the candy bars, cut them in six pieces, mixed them with some of the flour called for in the recipe, and then mixed them into the dough. I used a large cookie scoop to form the cookies.

Rehearsal Went Well

The local rehearsal went well last night. We are doing Verdi's Requiem along with the local Choral Society and several smaller choruses. A total of 135 vocal musicians. The orchestra will probably have 60 - 75 instrumentalists eventually for the performance. I was a little worried since I hadn't practiced much since I played for a Christmas program in December. However the Bass parts seems doable. And since I no longer have the responsibility of playing principal, I am much more relaxed about it!
Concert is April 1st!
