HOT!!

"On this day (July 24th) in 1936, the Dust Bowl heat wave was so intense that Kansas and Nebraska experienced their all-time hottest temperatures, unbroken to this day. In Alton, Kansas, the temperature was 121 degrees, and in Minden, Nebraska, it was 118." - The writers Almanac.

It's supposed to get to 101F here today.

Growing up in Topeka, KS in the late 1940's I remember an afternoon that got to 114F at the house. We had an outdoor thermometer outside the dining room window.

Happy Birthday to me!

Birthday present from my Husband! Pretty pictures. Some recipes I might try. Cantaloupe balls with prosciutto, lime, and basil recipe looks good. Especially now that my basil crop is going great guns, and I need to use as much as I can. Pesto recipes anyone?
