Lemon Bread
2 cups Sugar
1 cup Butter
4 Egg Yolks
1 1/4 cups Milk
3 cups Flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 cup nuts (optional), finely chopped
2 Lemon Peel, grated
4 Egg Whites, stiffly beaten
**SAUCE**
2 Lemons Juiced
1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
Beat well: 2 cups sugar & 1 cup Margarine. Add & beat well: 4 egg yolks. Add alternately with dry ingredients: 1 1/4 cup milk, 3 cups flour, 1 teaspoon salt & 2 teaspoons Baking Powder. Then add 1 cup finely chopped nuts. Add grated peel of 2 lemons. Fold in 4 stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into 2 small greased & floured loaf pans. Bake at 350F for 45-50 minutes or until done. As soon as bread comes out of oven pour over: Juice of 2 lemons mixed with 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Leave in pans for one hour before removing
