There are a total of twenty-five pockets with four pockets on the trunk. Each pocket holds a tiny wrapped gift (or candy, money, etc.). The tree needs a star at the top. I got some gold lame, but it's too hard to work with. I'll have to find something else. The tree might not get a star until next year.
